I have been fascinated by role-playing games ever since I saw the cover of the Dungeons and Dragons Companion Set in a local bookstore. My parents wouldn’t buy it for me. It was the eighties and concerns about Dungeons and Dragons were the subject of stories in newspapers, news magazines and news broadcasts. But it didn’t stop me from looking at that set every time we visited. Something about the desperation of the battle between the knight, with his oversized sword, and the green dragon was compelling. As I grew older, I spent more time reading role-playing games then playing them, from Megatraveller to Rolemaster. And, later, my career as an award-winning investigative journalist and then journalism professor left me with little time for even that. However, my wife and friends have been telling me for years that I need a hobby. So this is it. I hope you enjoy these creations as much as I enjoyed creating them for my regular weekend gaming group. I’ll also be sharing some short fiction from time-to-time. If you have any questions, criticisms or compliments, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
